Late Bloomer Looks Forward to the New Year

May 2009 bring us peace and joy,
and may we all reach for the stars.

Ellen DeGeneres Conjured?

Proof you never know what’s going to come out
when you put pencil to paper. For the life of me
I think this is a youthful Ellen DeGeneres. You’ll
have to tell me what the backstory is here!

Merry, merry!

Have a naughty (and nice) holiday!

And more snow!

The snow just keeps coming. I think we have over a foot on the ground now. They are calling it the snowstorm of the century for Portland which, having grown up in Michigan, seems somewhat of a joke.

We got the tirechains put on yesterday, so we are ready to get out there, though it has been wonderful to have so much studio time.

This is a photo of our backyard bird feeder. I keep filling it and they keep eating it. A fat squirrel with love handles has figured out how to hang onto the steel support and stretch all the way over to the feeder to snag one sunflower seed at a time. What he drops, the birds get. Share and share alike.
‘Tis the Season!

Boy and a Bug

It’s snowing, so I’m thinking about summer.

Okay, enough already with the shrews!

Science fact: A loud noise,
such as a thunderclap,
can scare a shrew to death!

I’m really stuck on these shrews!!

Science Fact: Male Shrews make terrible fathers.
They wander off after mating – looking for other females.
