1. Laal Singh Chaddha – Remake of Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump, the Hollywood film starring Tom Hanks, needs no introduction for true movie lovers. The official Hindi remake of this iconic film is Lal Singh Chaddha. It is one of the most talked-about remakes; this film stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

2. Jersey – Remake of Telugu film Jersey

Jersey, starring Mrunal Thakur and Shahid Kapoor, is another film facing delays due to the pandemic and now to avoid a box-office clash. But did you know that this film is the Bollywood remake of the superhit Telugu film by the same name? The original movie stars Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles and is a sports drama.

3. The Intern – Remake of The Intern

Probably one of the most awaited Bollywood remakes of recent times, The Intern is a remake of the famous Hollywood film stars Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro. Initially, the Hindi remake was supposed to star Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor in the lead roles. But post his demise, Amitabh Bachchan has been roped in for the position. So we are all waiting to see them recreate the Piku magic on screen.

4. Vikram Vedha – Remake of Vikram Vedha

Vikram Vedha is a superhit Tamil film Inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi that stars Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the titular roles. In 2018, the director duo Pushkar–Gayathri, who made the original film, announced that they would direct the Bollywood remake of the same title. Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan have been roped in for the project.

5. Selfiee – Remake of Driving License

Comedy-drama starring Prithviraj and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles and is all set to get its official Hindi remake, Selfie, with Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi. It’s pretty interesting to watch Emraan Hashmi after a long time which is to be directed by Raj Mehta; the movie is currently being shot.

6. Untitled remake of HIT

The Telugu investigative drama that stars Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma is set to get a Bollywood remake. This movie is still in the pre-production stage, directed by Sailesh Kolanu and starring Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra. The original action-thriller had an intriguing plotline, and the movie garnered a lot of attention.

7. Hindi remake of Anniyan

The 2005 blockbuster Anniyan, dubbed in Hindi and titled Aparichit, will get a Hindi remake by Shankar’s same director. This psychological thriller will star Ranveer Singh in the lead role, playing a triple role initially played by Vikram. The project is untitled and is expected to go on floors sometime soon.

A Malayalam film was originally about a newlywed woman who tries to fit into the conventional mold of a wife that society has prescribed for women. The movie had received critical acclaim and a lot of love from people and is now getting a Bollywood remake. Starring Sanya Malhotra, Harman Baweja, and Vicky Bahri will be producing the film.

9. Shehzada – Remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo

A superhit Telugu family comedy starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in 2020 was also one of the highest-grossing Telugu movies that year. The remake will star Kartik Aryan and Kriti Sanon and be directed by Rohit Dhawan. It is scheduled to release in November this year.

10. Bholaa – Remake of Kaithi

The Tamil film Kaithi, which stars Karthik Sivakumar, was inspired by the 1976 movie Assault On Precinct 13. Kaithi will now be remade in Hindi, in which Ajay Devgn and Tabu will play the leading role. The movie is about the struggles of an ex-convict prisoner to meet his daughter.
